Privacy Policy: Hanagshama, a digital chavruta

Hanagshama is a study companion for classic works of Jewish thought, with an AI study partner, operated by Yaniv Alush.

1. No sign-up, no personal details. No name, email, phone or other identifying details are requested, and there are no user accounts.
2. Conversations. Messages you write are sent to our server (yanivalush.com, hosted on Wix) and from there to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate a reply, together with the book, section and reading position. Our server does not store conversation content. Anthropic processes messages to produce the reply and may retain them for a limited period for safety and abuse prevention under its own policy. It does not use them to train models. Conversation history is stored only on your device.
3. Anonymous identifier. A random ID, not linked to your identity, is used to count overall usage.
4. Abuse protection. The server counts requests per IP address, per minute and per day, storing only the address and a request count.
5. Reporting an answer. If you report an answer, we store the question, the answer, the book, the section, the reason and your note, with the anonymous ID, only to improve the chavruta. Reports are kept for up to one year and then deleted.
6. Reminders are scheduled and kept on your phone only.
7. Third parties. Anthropic (AI processing), Wix (server hosting), Netlify (web hosting) and Google Fonts (fonts). External links (Spotify, yanivalush.com) follow their own policies. No ads, and no tracking, marketing or analytics tools.
8. Children. The app is intended for ages 13 and up.
9. Security. Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), and server tables are admin-only.
